Acer updates Veriton all-in-ones and nettops for the business execs

acer veriton

Well, today those spreadsheet-loving executives out there are in luck as Acer’s updating its business-targeted Veriton line up. That attractive 21.5-inch all-in-one up there is the new Veriton Z410G, but it’s more than just silver and black good looks — it’ll be avilable with a Pentium E5700 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive for $719. On the lower end there’s the $599 18.5-inch Z2900G, which differentiates itself with a resistive touchscreen and an dual-core Atom D525 processor. For the smaller form factor inclined, Acer’s also unleashing the $399 Veriton N282G and $449 N281G nettops. The former is powered by a dual-core D525 Atom processor and NVIDIA’s Ion 2 platform, while the latter is stuck with an Atom D425 processor and Intel’s GMA 3150. Both are outfitted with 320GB of storage and 2GB of memory. The prices do seem are slightly higher than Acer’s consumer counterparts, but can you really put a price on Acer’s added Veriton ControlCenter, which includes QuickMigration and PowerSaver software? Until Acer’s next batch of updates, we leave you with the full press releases after the break.

The Asus Eee PC 1015PN is a 10 inch netbook with a dual core Intel Atom N550 processor and second generation NVIDIA ION graphics. Acer Upgrades AspireRevo Nettop Line

Acer’s AspireRevo line was joined yesterday by the new $350US AR3700, with Intel’s dual-core Atom D525 and NVIDIA ION graphics, providing a much-needed boost to the company’s series of nettops. While lacking in USB 3.0, the computer more than makes up for it with its wide variety of mounting options, such as via VESA on the back of an HD monitor.

ASUS Eee PC 1215 with Ion receives Optimus and USB 3.0 augmentation

ASUS Eee PC 1215 with Ion receives Optimus and USB 3.0 augmentation

When we found out that the Ion 2-packing Eee PC 1201PNs lacked NVIDIA Optimus tech for switching graphics hardware on the fly, well, it was a bit of a bummer to say the least. But, ASUS is at least fixing its successor, the Eee PC 1215. It’s largely the same machine as the 1201, packing a dual-core Atom D510 processor and Ion graphics to complement the onboard graphics. This one, though, will have the Optimus hardware to switch betwixt the two, saving battery life all the while. The case has also been subtly refreshed but, most interestingly, ASUS saw fit to throw in a pair of USB 3.0 ports, their cerulean insides shining like beacons to guide us toward the future of high-speed file transfers. We’re not sure when the 1215 is destined to hit retail and make the 1201PN obsolete, nor how much of a premium it will cost when it does, but there are plenty more pictures of the thing and even a few benchmarks at the source link.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 Pinetrail, ION 2 Nettop Announced

Lenovo has announced an update to their first generation IdeaCentre Q100 and Q110 nettops with the IdeaCentre Q150 which updates to the latest next generation ION platform with a dual core Atom D510 processor. On the outside, looks remain almost identical to the last generation (I can immediately see a few changes like the updated power led / button). This time there will be optional peripherals.

While the original Q110 was a very decent ION powered nettop – it was single core, a little noisy, upgrade unfriendly and most importantly, a little too pricey compared to the competition. I reviewed one last year but it was met with zero enthusiasm, understandably.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 Specs

  • Intel Atom D510 processor (dual core, 1.66GHz) OR D410 processor (single core, 1.66GHz)
  • Nvidia ION + Intel GMA 3150 graphics
  • Up to 2GB DDR2 RAM
  • 160 / 250 / 320 / 500GB HDD
  • 5.1 channel audio via S/PDIF out
  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 100MB LAN
  • 4x USB 2.0, LAN, audio jacks, S/PDIF, HDMI, VGA
  • VESA wall mount
  • Windows 7 Home Premium
  • Keyboard and mouse (optional)
  • Remote with trackball mouse (optional)
  • 1.67 pounds / 0.76 kg weight
  • 20 x 172 x 153 mm in size

Jetway preps a nettop with next-gen NVIDIA ION graphics

We already knew that Jetway was preparing an NVIDIA ION powered mini-desktop with NVIDIA ION graphics and an Intel Atom Pine Trail processor. Now the folks at Semi Accurate report that the company will soon put out a model with NVIDIA ION 2 and Intel’s upcoming Atom processor with support for DDR3 memory.

The new model will reportedly be called the Jetway Mini-Top… or something like that. It will support either a single core Intel Atom D425 or dual core Atom D525 processor. Both have clock speeds of 1.83GHz. The nettop has HDMI and DVI video outputs, 4 USB ports, an eSATA port, and a WiFi option.
