PowerColor HD 5770 Low Profile Edition packs Arctic cooler

For HTPC owners looking to enter the DirectX 11 era, Tul Corp-owned PowerColor has developed a ‘real’ low-profile Radeon HD 5770. On display at PowerColor’s Computex booth, the half-height card offers DVI and HDMI outputs and is equipped with a dual-fan cooler from Arctic (Arctic Cooling).

The Radeon HD 5770 Low Profile Edition also boasts 800 Stream Processors, a 850 MHz GPU clock ,a 128-bit memory interface backed by 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM @ 4800 MHz, and lacks CrossFireX support. The card’s pricing and availability were not announced but it should be long before we see it in stores – maybe up to a month.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 470 Super Overclock gets its cooler on

Spotted a couple of days ago in the nude, without a cooler, Gigabyte’s upcoming GeForce GTX 470 Super Overclock card has also been found on display at Computex, this time, in full battle gear, equipped with a triple-fan solution that should keep the GF100’s temps at ‘acceptable’ levels’.

Codenamed GV-N470SO-13I, Gigabyte’s card has a 12-phase power design, the mention three-fan cooler that also packs a few heatpipes for better heat conductivity, 448 CUDA Cores, a 320-bit memory interface and 1280MB of GDDR5 VRAM, voltage read points, dual-DVI and mini HDMI outputs, and some unknown frequencies (the card will be factory overclocked).

PowerColor Radeon HD 5770 Evolution shows Nvidia some love

As promised, at its Computex booth PowerColor is showing off a few very custom graphics cards, including the Radeon HD 5770 Evolution which comes equipped with Lucidlogix’s Hydra chip, enabling it to be paired up with another Radeon or even a GeForce card for enhanced gaming performance.

Beside the Hydra chip, the card features a new, dual-slot cooler, 800 Stream Processors, a GPU clock of 850 MHz, a 128-bit memory interface, 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM @ 4800 MHz, and DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.

Unfortunately, due to driver issues, PowerColor is not yet ready to bring the Radeon HD 5770 Evolution to market so for now all we can do is contemplate.

Huawei S7 Android tablet with voice capabilities

OK, you could probably make the case that the Dell Streak 5 inch device isn’t so much a tablet as a kind of chunky smartphone. After all, it runs Google Android, surfs the web over a a 3G connection, and lets you make phone calls if you’re willing to hold it up to your ear — or wear a headset. But I have a hard time imagining anybody holding a Huawei S7 Android tablet up to their face to make a call — even though this 7 inch tablet packs all the same features and then some.
